Regional Funded Music Visits

A Regionally Funded Music Visit (RFMV) means that a chorus in our region can request a Region 4 faculty member to visit that chorus for musical or visual coaching at a minimal cost to the chorus. The coach's mileage is paid by Harmony Heartland Region 4. If lodging and food are needed, the chapter funds those expenses. The only additional cost to the chorus is a $50 fee to the region.

Our region is allotting 15 visits for fiscal year 2025-2026.  Each chorus may request a single RFMV visit.  Because not all choruses will use their allotted RFMV, any unused visits will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The chorus Director or President/Team Leader (or their delegate) can arrange for RFMV.  Two RFMVs cannot be combined into a single visit.

Regionally Funded Music Visit Guidelines

Each chorus will have the opportunity to submit a request for up to two Regionally Funded Music Visits (RMFV) this fiscal year.  These visits can be used to meet the musical or visual needs of the chorus.  The Chorus Leadership should submit a request to the current RMFV Coordinator , with their requested dates & faculty preference.  The RMFV Coordinator will contact the Regional Faculty to schedule the Regional visit. After the date is set, the RMFV Coordinator will email confirmation and the next steps to chorus, faculty and regional Finance Coordinator.

The goal is to ensure that every chorus needing a visit receives one and that all the available funding is used.

  1. The faculty member will provide three hours of coaching or PVIs, with the chorus.  The chorus will be required to provide lodging and meals as necessary. If the faculty member provides additional services outside of the 3-hour RMFV time frame, they should be compensated at their normal coaching rate, to be negotiated on an individual basis.
  2. The chorus will send a check for $50 to the Regional Finance Coordinator, no later than 30 days prior to the visit.

  3. Any visit that requires air travel, because of time and/or distance must be pre-approved by the Educational Coordinator.

  4. In all fairness to our Regional Faculty members, who are donating the three hours, two Regionally Funded Music Visits cannot be used in one visit, meaning they cannot be combined.
