Director Certification Program (DCP)
The Director Certification Program (DCP) is an educational, self-paced program designed to validate the skills and knowledge required to direct a Sweet Adelines chorus. It offers convenient learning at your own pace with required evaluations. The DCP is now virtual and accessible through the Learning Management System (LMS)
Anyone wishing to improve their musical knowledge and skills is eligible to participate in the DCP, including front-line directors, co-directors, associate/assistant directors, section leaders, choreography, or chorus members. Non-member directors of an active or prospective Sweet Adelines chorus are also eligible.
DCP Advancement:
After becoming a Certified Director and directing a chorus for at least one year, participants are eligible for advancement within the program:
Harmony 500 Director (500+ points) Master Director (600+ points) Master 700 Director (700+ points)
Advancement depends on satisfactory completion of evaluations for each skill area and the achievement of the chorus in regional or international competition.
