We are proud members of Sweet Adelines International, a global nonprofit organization founded in 1945. What began as a small group of passionate singers has grown into one of the world’s largest communities dedicated to a cappella barbershop harmony.

What We Do

Our choruses and quartets love to entertain! You'll find us singing at community events, chorus shows, and special occasions throughout the region.

🧠Educate & Empower

From vocal techniques to leadership training, we help members strengthen their voices—and their confidence.

🏆Compete & Celebrate

Each spring, our region holds a friendly competition where choruses and quartets perform for judges and peers. Winners earn a spot at the international stage each fall!

What Is Barbershop?

Barbershop harmony is a unique style of four-part a cappella singing built around a melody. It’s music that rings—literally—thanks to tight chords and the magical overtones that occur when voices blend just right.

Today’s barbershop includes everything from jazz and Broadway to pop and gospel, all arranged in this distinctive style. It’s exciting, challenging, and deeply rewarding.

The Four Voice Parts

  • Lead – Sings the melody

  • Tenor – Adds high harmony above the melody

  • Baritone – Fills in the chords

  • Bass – Provides the deep foundation

Barbershop is unlike traditional choral music. Each part plays a vital role, and singers learn to hold their own lines—even when standing next to someone on a completely different part!

What You Need to Get Started

You don’t need to be a professional singer—just someone who:

  • Can sing in tune

  • Can blend and listen

  • Can hold a part independently

  • Is eager to learn and practice
