QC CLUB HISTORY

The Region 4 Quartet Champions Club (QC Club) was founded in 1966 to promote quartet singing through education, coaching of regional quartets, public performances and fundraising efforts to support Region 4 quartets competing at the SAI International contests. Club membership is made up of Region 4 Quartet Champions and any Region 4 member who has won a quartet championship in any other Sweet Adeline region. We look forward to regional competition where we sing in new quartets at the end of the quartet contest. If you see a member wearing a purple ribbon, you know they're a member of the QC Club.

Since Region 4 was founded in 1957, 167 individuals have been inducted into the Region 4 QC Club as winners of the Region 4 Quartet Competition. Many have won multiple championships in Region 4 and ten members are Queens of Harmony. We are proud of the hard work and dedication of all the quartets who represent region 4 and work to support every member who aspire to sing in a quartet.

REGION 23 QUARTET CHAMPIONS

In 2014, Sweet Adelines International made the decision to dissolve Region 23. The region was parcelled out to ajoining regions. Region 4 was given the great honor of welcoming a number of now well known and loved Region 4 choruses - Metro Nashville, Harmony Hills, Scenic City and Tune Town Show. Now, over 10 years later, it's hard to imagine Region 4 without them.

With the division of Region 23 came the curious conversation of quartet history and to whom the legacy falls. The Region 4 QC Club and the Region 4 RMT agree that that the hard work and history of the award winning quartets of Region 23 should not fade simply because the region no longer exists. For this reason, all of Region 23's talented champions are recognized here on our champion page. However, the quartets whose members were at the time of contest representing choruses who are now members of Region 4 are highlighted in yellow and hold a special place in our hearts.

We are working on finding photos of these quartets during their winning season as we've done for the Region 4 champs. If you have these photos in your archives, please send to [email protected]
