Singing Summit January 22-25, 2026: Class Titles and Descriptions

 

Friday - Director’s Day! This is YOUR Time!

This day is for you! You are our givers, our teachers, our inspiration, our opportunity makers, and the leaders of our present and future. This motivational time together will be offered to increase your Directing playbook and to motivate you forward. Together, we will discuss and unpack typical performance gaps, diagnose root causes vs. symptoms, and identify strategies to solve them. There will be an opportunity to address questions that have been burning in your mind. Why are we flatting? Why are we out of sync? How do I fix what I am hearing and seeing? How can I inspire my members? We will share strategies and ideas for raising the performance level of our ensembles. Utilizing video reviews, we will participate in a "You Be the Coach" exercise. Additionally, through group interaction and discussion, we will identify shared and unique challenges we face in our roles, and as a group, collaborate to help each other forward. I can't wait to spend the day with all of you!

Exploring Audience Connection, Emotional Resonance, Performance Freedom, Lyrical Intention, and Musical Storytelling

 

What does it take to influence and elevate an audience? What creates a memorable performance? What can get in the way? Utilizing collaborative discussion, observation and interactive exercises engaging our body, mind, and voice, we will work together to unleash performance freedom and shift the spotlight. We will unleash our potential and focus on the servicing of our audience. We will explore emotional intention, confidence, stability, authenticity, and unstoppable energy, with the ultimate goal of inspiring the lives of others with our music. You are an influencer and a powerful world changer!

With the help of your imagination, kinesthetics, imagery, and physiology, you will leave this class with a fresh perspective and a buffet of creative ideas to help you improve your vocal habits.

During this fun and engaging class, we will all pile on the risers together and bring the song, Hallelujah Barbershop to life. Working as a large ensemble, we will work together to elevate and celebrate upgrading our vocal, emotional, mental, and physical performance skills.

Reframing Your Purpose

 

This introspective class will encourage participants to re-examine your WHY and center your purpose, celebrating your humanness and inspiring you forward. We will examine topics such as breaking patterns for growth, blind followership, the power of relationships, how to reframe competition in a healthy way, how to transform challenges into opportunities for growth, replacing pressure with purpose, and reframing your future.
