Housing blocks are open

Your Chorus Housing Chair has received a link to the chorus housing block of rooms.

• Each chorus block is assigned specific numbers and types of rooms within the designated hotel (Marriott or Embassy Suites). A detailed breakdown is included in the email along with the link.

• The Housing Chair is responsible for securing rooms for their chorus members within the chorus block. Whether this is done by a single person, or by each room captain/individual member, is up to the Housing Chair. However, please note that there are a limited number of rooms within each chorus block, so coordination by the Housing Chair is recommended, regardless of who makes the reservations.

• The region is suggesting that each Housing Chair work with their chorus members to establish room captains. The room captains will use the provided link to reserve their own room. They will need to provide their name, address, credit card number (for hold) and the additional members in their room (they MUST include roommates as we use this to cross check with AETs – no stay fees).  Whoever makes the reservation will receive the reservation email with the confirmation number.  They can update the reservation until the block closes on February 24th.

• Reminders to Competing Quartets and Directors
  • Each competing quartet will NEED room(s) for Thursday evening as they are required to attend the official briefing and inspection.
  • Each director will NEED a room for Thursday evening as they are required to attend the official briefing and inspection.
  • Directors and competing quartets should work with their home chorus to secure their room(s) within the designated chorus block.
• If there are any issues, your Housing Chair will work directly with Lura Nightlinger, who will then work with the hotels.

Those members who do not have a home chorus (i.e. Chapter-at-Large, Member-at-Large) will need to contact Lura Nightlinger at [email protected] for a housing link.

Please do not contact the hotel directly, as they will not have the reservation information until after the block closes.

Rates:

• Marriott Hotel:
  • $205.00 per night plus tax
  • King or Queen/Queen rooms

• Embassy Suites Hotel:
  • $203.00 per night plus tax
  • King w/sofa sleeper or Double/Double w/sofa sleeper rooms

Parking:

• Marriott Hotel:
  • Guests will need to park in the garage under the Embassy Suites.
  • Marriott will provide a "chaser" ticket for each room, one ticket per night. No in-and-out privileges.

• Embassy Suites Hotel:
  • Guests will need to park in the garage under the Embassy Suites.
  • Guests will need to take their ticket to the lobby to be validated.
  • Guests will have in-and-out privileges.

NOTE: Any competing chorus or quartet member that chooses not to stay at a hotel via the room block will be assessed a $50 no stay fee.
