COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols
Protocol update 3/18/2022
(Subject to change based on CDC Guidelines)
As we welcome you back to Regional Contest at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, the health and well-being of our members, audience, staff and volunteers is our number one priority. The following health and safety protocols will be required to be followed by all attending.
WE URGE ALL ATTENDEES TO DO THEIR BEST TO HONOR THESE PROTOCOLS WHEN YOU ARRIVE IN COVINGTON. THANK YOU!
UPDATES AS OF MARCH 18, 2022
NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST CLARIFICATION:
- Competing Chorus or Quartet members - If not vaccinated, COVID-19 tests must be done no earlier than
Tuesday, March 29th 6pm and up to registration at 6pm on Thursday, March 31st when documents are to be turned in.
- Non-Competing members/attendees 5 years of age and older – If not vaccinated COVID-19 test must be done no
earlier than Tuesday, March 29th 6pm and up to your arrival at Northern Kentucky Convention Center for Regional
Contest.
- PCR, Antigen or Rapid tests are all acceptable.
FACE MASKS – These are still required by all competitors/attendees 2 years of age and older while in the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.
DOCUMENTATION RETENTION – Signed Waivers, Copies of Vaccination Cards, and Negative COVID-19 Test results will be retained for 2 weeks after the conclusion of contest. All documents will be shredded no later than April 15, 2022.
HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS.
1. Chorus Presidents/Team Managers must have copies of all chorus competitor’s proof of vaccination card or negative
COVID-19 test (taken 48 hours chorus/quartet check-in) and signed Assumption of Risk Waivers available to be turned at
registration desk in the convention lobby between 6pm – 7pm, Thursday March 31st, prior to our Chorus Briefing.
2. Competing/Evaluation Quartets must have copies of proof of vaccination card or negative COVID-19 test (taken 48
hours before chorus/quartet check-in) and signed Assumption of Risk Waivers available to turn in at registration desk in
the convention lobby between 6pm – 7pm, Thursday, March 31st, prior to the Chorus Briefing. This is being required
EVEN IF, your quartet is singing in a competing chorus and has already provided this information to your chorus
President/Team Manager. We realize this might be “double” work, but it will make your check in process so much
easier and less complicated. Thanks for understanding.

3. All audience members and contest volunteers must be masked and show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test
taken within 48 hours before Thursday March 31st at 6pm and/or up to arrival at Covington, as well as Assumption of
Risk Waiver when registering, or purchasing event ticket.
4. If any attendee feels sick or has a fever they will be asked to leave the venue. Members, staff and volunteers must notify
their chorus president/team manager.
SPECIAL SITUATIONS:
1. Medical reason for not being vaccinated – documented proof from a Doctor will be required. A copy must be submitted to
chorus president/team manager and turned in at chorus briefing.
2. Antibodies. For the safety of everyone, all attendees must either be vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID-19
within 48 hours prior to 6pm, Thursday, March 31st.
PROOF OF VACCINATION OR NEGATIVE COVID-19 TESTING:
• Everyone attending 5 years of age and older is required to either be fully vaccinated and to show proof of vaccination,
or proof of negative Covid test for entry into the venue with a valid ticket. Guests under the age of 5 are not required
to show a proof of vaccination or COVID-19 test result but must wear a mask at all times while at the venue.
• A copy of the vaccination card on paper or on a mobile phone are acceptable forms of documentation for event guests
purchasing a ticket day of event at the ticket desk.
• “Fully vaccinated” means that everyone attending has had their final vaccine dose at least 14 days prior to the event
(on or before March 17th).
• An antigen test administered by a healthcare or pharmacy provider within 24 hours of the performance. (An at-home
antigen test administered by a virtual proctor with a time and date stamped result – such as Abbott’s BinaxNOW Ag Card
Home Test with the Navica app result – will also be accepted. The BinaxNOW test without the Navica app and virtual
proctor will not be accepted.
The following will be accepted as proof of a negative COVID-19 test result:
• A printed document (or copy of such document) from the test provider or laboratory, OR
• An email or text message displayed on a phone or electronic device from the test provider or laboratory.
• The information provided should include the name of the person tested, the type of test performed, the date of the
negative test result and the name of the provider or laboratory that conducted the test. A COVID-19 PCR test result
must be within 48 hours of the event date; Antigen test result date must be within 24 hours of the event),

FACE MASK REQUIREMENTS: – KN95 and N95 masks are strongly recommended. By wearing your mask, you are helping those around you stay safe, and you are also supporting our efforts to return to live performances.
- Face masks that cover the nose and mouth are required to be worn at all times by all attendees (including children 2
years old and older), staff, and volunteers, regardless of vaccination status, in all areas of our venues, except when consuming food or beverages in designated areas. Only bottled water may be taken into performance spaces.
- Masks are required to be kept on by competitors while traveling through the pattern. However, masks are not required during performance.
- It is up to each chorus as to how masks are collected prior to taking the risers, and how these masks will be returned to members after their performances. Since you will be masked until you reach the Pre-Stage area, please be sure lipstick and other makeup touch ups are available for your members prior to performing.
- Competitors who prefer being masked during the performance will not be penalized by the judges.
- Face Shields will not be allowed unless proof of a medical exemption is provided.

Registration is held between 6 – 7pm Thursday March 31th, at Chorus/Quartet registration table located outside of Event Hall I in convention center.
COMPETING CHORUSES:
In addition to other paperwork required at chorus check you will need to provide COPIES of the following for all members:
