THRIVE Program. As you may or may not be aware, several months ago, SAI launched a new regional/member support program they called THRIVE. (To Help Regions Increase Vibrant Engagement). This program’s goal is to help regions boost education and growth of administrative leaders, and improve chorus membership. You can read all about it on the SAI website! Each region was allocated $250 for each of the choruses in their region to be solely earmarked to support the program’s goals.
It then became our RMT mission to develop a program to meet these THRIVE guidelines. Prior to our June meeting, we surveyed each chorus with a series of questions. This survey was completed by each chorus Board/Management Team. We had 100% survey completion! BRAVO! The information shared by each of your choruses helped us develop a roadmap to utilize these funds as wisely and effectively as possible for our region.
After digesting these survey responses, a clear-cut and exciting educational plan was created to focus on our region’s 2 main areas of need.
Area #1: Chorus Culture. This area will focus on helping each chorus create a positive, safe, exciting and welcoming culture. Creating a happy, healthy chorus is paramount to successfully improving membership. Training will include such topics as:
Successful project delegation; development of core values & chorus vision; creation of effective chorus communication programs; dealing effectively with conflict; transparency; effective collaboration between administrative leaders, musical director and chorus membership.
Area #2: Membership Growth & Retention. Our region, along with most other SAI regions, have seen a decline in membership these last few years. Creating programs to market our choruses and assimilate new members is key to our future – as is taking care of our existing membership. Training will include such topics as:
Harnessing the power of social media; alternative chorus revenue sources; membership recruitment contests; determining an ideal member profile; general successful marketing campaigns; guest information processes; celebrating our existing member’s contributions.
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a ONE DAY seminar to address each of these important areas!
