Quartet Pattern

  • Quartet Pattern will start in 2nd floor lobby of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. 
  • As directed by a Convention Hostess:
    • Move to the photo room.
    • Move to the warm-up room.
      • Each quartet will have 10 minutes in the warm-up room
    • Move to the pre-stage area
      • Drop off purses and comfortable shoes
      • All belongings must be able to fit in a gallon sized ziplock bag.  Your competitor AET must also be clearly visible inside this ziplock bag.  No other bags will be permitted in the pattern.
    • Walk down the hallway and use a ramp to access the backstage area
    • Enter the stage through a center curtain
    • Have fun performing
    • Exit stage LEFT, take the ramp down to the floor and walk through a door to the hallway to retrieve purses, etc.
    • The spectator entrance to the contest hall is down the hallway and to the right.  The food court and the Hub are just past the contest hall to the right.  Restrooms are just past the Hub and the food court.
    • A hostess will escort/direct quartets to the webcast desk

Chorus Pattern

  • Chorus Pattern will start in the Lobby of either the Marriott or the Embassy depending on the selected preference of your chorus.
    • If you come into the Marriott from the street level, take the elevator up to the 2nd (L) Floor.  Meet near the water feature.  Then you will be escorted across the walkway to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.
    • In the Embassy, meet in the Lobby on the side closest to the front desk.  You will be ushered onto buses and transported to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, where you will get on the freight elevator and guided to the second floor.
  • Your Convention Hostess will then escort you to the:
    • Warm-up Room
      • Each chorus will have 14 minutes in the warm-up room.
    • Then your hostess will take you to the pre-stage area
      • Drop off purses and comfortable shoes
      • All belongings must be able to fit in a gallon sized ziplock bag.  Your competitor AET must also be clearly visible inside this ziplock bag.  No other bags will be permitted in the pattern.
    • Walk down the hallway and use a ramp to access the backstage area
    • Enter the stage through curtains on stage RIGHT
    • Have fun performing
    • Exit stage LEFT, take the ramp down to the floor and walk through a door to the hallway
    • Follow the hallway (right) to the Convention Center Lobby, where you can retrieve purses, etc.
    • The spectator entrance to the contest hall is to the right.  The food court and the Hub are just past the contest hall to the right.  Restrooms are just past the Hub and the food court.
    • The hostess will escort the director and/or administrative leader to the webcast desk

General Info

  • There will be a light curtain for the contests.
  • Stage monitors will be used during the quartet contest to help quartet members hear each other better.  
  • There will be NO monitors for the chorus contest.
  • There will be eleven sets of six-foot risers with back rails and the middle section will be inverted. 
  • There will only be this one riser configuration for all chorus competitors.
  • Please feel free to wear comfortable walking shoes in the pattern; there is time to change your shoes in the pre-stage area.  
  • All belongings must be able to fit in a gallon sized ziplock bag.  Your competitor AET must also be clearly visible inside this ziplock bag.  No other bags will be permitted in the pattern.
  • Please be sure you label your shoe bag and small bag of belongings with your name and your quartet /chorus name.
  • Contestants must have their name badge with them to enter the contest hall.

Competitor Photography
Quartet photos will be taken during the quartet pattern.  Chorus photos will be taken on stage.  The official photographer will take candid photos during the chorus competitors’ performances.

Special Needs
Please notify Donna Ebelhar and Jamie Kamin at [email protected], Co-Regional Competition Coordinators, about any competitor who is not able to walk through the pattern or is unable to use the steps to exit the stage after competing.
